Bailey T. Shane

Bailey T. Shane, 27, of Ottawa passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017. Memorial services will be held at noon on Saturday, November 11 at St. John's United Church of Christ, 401 N. Main Street, Belvidere IL 61008. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery at a later date. Ottawa Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with cremation rites. Bailey was born April 1, 1990 in Belvidere, Illinois to Carl and Dana (Katrein) Shane. He attended Ottawa High School. Bailey enjoyed hiking and going to concerts; he was a fan of the Grateful Dead and dub step. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and going to amusement parks with his girlfriend, Lizz. Bailey was an adventurer who loved life. He is survived by his father, Carl (Lori Midthun) Shane of Rockford; his brother, Carl Michaud Jr. of Rockford; grandparents, Joseph (Merry) Shane of Belvidere, Carol (Evan) Stuck of Belvidere, and Tom (Vicky) Katrein of Ottawa; his great-grandmother, Marilyn Shianna of Ottawa; uncles and aunts, Eddy (Cheri) Shane, Joseph Michael (Chris) Shane, Carl Gesinger, Crystal Shane, and Kelly Katrein; many cousins, Amber and Kerrigan Katrein and Austin Dille; and his girlfriend, Lizz Brockman. He was preceded in death by his mother and his great-grandfather, Victor Shianna.
