Arthur Aubry

Arthur J. Aubry, 83, of Ottawa, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 5, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Ottawa Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, June 6, at 10:30am at St. Columba Church. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery.

Arthur was born August 14, 1939, in Spring Valley, IL, to Arthur and Katherine (Murry) Aubry Sr. He married Mary Ruth McCormick on November 17, 1962 at St. Columba Church.

A life long resident of Ottawa, Illinois, he attended St. Patricks Grade School before graduating from Marquette High School in 1957 and Coyne College Electrical School - Chicago in 1960, sponsored by his Electrician Uncle, Jay Murry. He worked as an Electrician at LOF and retired after 40 years on the job. Art stayed active as a self employed Electrician for many years after retirement. He had a passion for classic vehicles and also loved having a novel nearby for reading. He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus. Art was known to all who loved him as a selfless and kind man.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Ruth Aubry; his siblings, Carlotta (Ronald) Cauley of Stuart, Florida and Robert “Jim” (Paula) Aubry of Boubonnais, Il; his children, Kamala “Kami” (Brian Pitstick) of Knoxville Tennessee, Mark (Amy Carpenter) of Streator, Il and Eric of Denver, Colorado; his grandchildren, Andy Pitstick, Gavin (Sarah) Aubry, Corynn (Andrew) Snyder, Mackenzie (Seth) Thompson; as well as seven great grandchildren, Eastonne, Marley, Andee Kae and Gracin Pitstick, Indie Thompson and Avery Aubry.

Arthur was preceded in death by his Parents and one Grandson, Grady Pitstick.

Pallbearers will be Gavin Aubry, Andy Pitstick, Brian Pitstick, Ron Cauley, Jerry Sexton and Earl Donahue with Tom Walsh as Honorary.

Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
