Anna was born December 18, 1919 in Ransom to Charles and Gertrude (Halton) Corrigan. She married Irvin Schmitt on April 17, 1941 in St. Francis of Assisi Church; he passed away September 13, 1992.
Anna was a hairdresser for Ann's Beauty Shop. She was a past member of St. Patrick's Church and a current member of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Anna was proud of her Irish heritage, and she read books by the shelf. Simply put, she was funny, witty, good-natured, and always a willing recipient of "tentions."
She is survived by three daughters, Kerrin (William) Wishart of Sunnyvale, CA., Eileen (Gene) Taylor of Boulder, CO., and Mary Hausermann of Boulder, CO.; two sons, Dan (Julie) Schmitt of Fairbury, IL., and Mike Schmitt of Des Plains, IL.; 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister, Monica Slaight in 1972; and one daughter, Paula in 1988.
Pallbearers will be Paul Schmitt, Mark Schmitt, Joe Thompson, Roger Brown, and Phil Pogue.
Memorials may be directed to St. Francis of Assisi Church, Marquette Academy, or Trinity Catholic Academy.
