Ann L. McGinnis, 94, of Ottawa, Illinois, died peacefully in her sleep Friday, February 22, 2013, at Ottawa Pavilion. She went to be with the Lord and her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at St. Columba Church with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 25, 2013 at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 4:00 p.m. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Ann was born May 25, 1918, in Ottawa, Illinois, to Richard and Mary (Telfer) Walsh. She married Emmett F. McGinnis on February 2, 1946, at St. Columba Church. He died January 25, 1974. She was a member of St. Columba Church and St. Columba Altar and Rosary Society. She owned and operated her beauty shop out of her home for over 50 years, where the door was always open. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many people. She loved to travel, play golf, and bowl, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She is survived by two nieces, Sandy (Dan) Henson, Mary Jo Fowler; six nephews, Michael (Mary Beth), Jerry, and Daniel (Valerie) Ursini, Gerald (Renae), Terry (Julie), and Harry (Brenda) Donnelly; many great nieces and nephews; and her friend and cousin Peg O'Connell. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters, Mary Farrington, Katherine Grewenig, and Rita Ursini; two brothers, Michael and Richard Walsh; and twin sons in infancy. Pallbearers will be Jerry Ursini, Dan and Dan Jr. Henson, Steve Johnson, Mike Rice, and Levi Wier. Memorials may be directed to St. Columba Renovation Fund.
