Angeline "Angie" Josephine Gleason, 79, of Ottawa, formerly of Bartlett, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016, on her 59th wedding anniversary.
Her memorial service will be 10:00 Saturday, October 1, 2016 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 131 S. Crest Ave in Bartlett, Illinois with Father Christopher officiating.
Angie was born on December 29, 1936 in Chicago to Stanley and Celia (Czarnik) Sitko. She married James Gleason on September 14, 1957 at St. John's Church in Chicago.
Angie was a librarian at St. Genevieve's School in Chicago and the West Chicago Public Library. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Ottawa and St. Peter Damian Catholic Church in Bartlett. Angeline enjoyed going to her grandkids' sporting events, reading, baking cookies, and spending time with her family and grandkids. Angeline was a Cub's fan, despite the fact that her grandkids were avid Sox fans.
She is survived by her husband; two children, Vickie (Julie) Gleason of Benton Harbor, MI; and Joseph (Jennifer) Gleason of Ottawa; eight grandkids, Kyle, Sean (Madison), Paige, Kayla, Ryan, Bryan, Skylar, and Austen, all of Ottawa.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Research Foundation, or the Special Olympics.
