OTTAWA -- Allen R. Wilhelms, 63, of Ottawa, died Saturday, Sept. 22, at Community Hospital of Ottawa. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Church with the Rev. Philip Halfacre officiating. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery with military services. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 4 p.m. Mr. Wilhelms was born July 2, 1944, in Ottawa, to Sylvester "Bill" and Helen (Allen) Wilhelms. He married Barbara Sonday on Sept. 20, 1969, at St. Patrick's Church. He was employed by the city of Ottawa at the sewage treatment plant. He served in the Army from 1962 to 1965 in Germany. He was a member of American Legion and Waste Water Operator's Association. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Wendy (Tim) Goetsch of Ottawa; three grandchildren, Colby Reed, Logan Allen and Kailey Noelle Goetsch. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Audrey Losik. Pallbearers will be Carl Herzog, Mick Jones, Bill Myers, Dave Galletti, Jim Krawczyk, Terry Fischer, Ken Pfalzgraf and Ken Nikels. Memorials may be directed to La Salle County Easter Seals or the donor's choice.
