Allan John Woeckel

Allan John Woeckel, 69, of Ottawa, Illinois passed away April 3, 2014 at his home. Cremation rites were accorded with no visitation or services at Allan's request. Ottawa Funeral Home was honored to have handled the arrangements for his family. Allan was born October 3, 1944 in La Salle, Illinois to August and Victoria (Grochowski) Woeckel. He married his partner of 27 years, Carol (Allen) Feldberg on April 7, 2006 at the First Presbyterian Church in Ottawa. After attaining his Associates in Arts in 1964, Allan went on to Northern Illinois University where he earned both his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees. Allan spent the majority of his adult working career in the library field. In addition Allan also earned a computer science certificate from IVCC and subsequently taught part time for the college. He is survived by his wife Carol, one daughter Renee (Ken) Nelson of Ottawa, two sons Scott Woeckel of Los Angeles, CA and Bill (Andrea) Feldberg of Las Vegas, NV, three grandsons Ryan & Zachary Nelson and Zachary Feldberg, two sisters Nancy (Mike)Teas of Hartland WI, Susan (Paul Body) of London England, two brothers Dan (Pam) Woeckel of Buffalo Grove IL, Mark (Jackie) Woeckel of LaSalle and several nieces and nephews. His parents and one sister Catherine preceded him in death. Memorials may be directed to Ottawa Veterinary Hospital for the care of cats.
