Albert Hettel III

Albert William Hettel III, 44, of Marseilles, passed away Monday, June 15, 2026 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 20, from 9:00am until 11:00am at Ottawa Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am. Burial will follow at St. Columba Cemetery.

Albert was born April 17, 1982 in Ottawa, IL to Albert "Doc" and Julie (Ennis) Hettel. He loved music, especially metal. He enjoyed playing the guitar and went to many concerts. He was an avid Bears fan and followed the Cubs. He enjoyed watching wrestling with his sister, Melinda. He liked the outdoors and especially liked going on hikes and walks. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and never missed an opportunity to be with them.

He is survived by his mother, Julie Hettel; his siblings, Melinda Hettel, Mary Hettel, and James Hettel; his grandmother, Sally Conklin; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, Albert; his grandparents, James Ennis, Albert Hettel Sr. and Lillian Hettel; and his uncles, Charles and Donald Hettel.

Memorial contributions in his honor may be directed to the family or to Friendship Village.
