Alan Waterworth

Alan Waterworth, 57, of Ottawa passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017. Visitation will be from 3:00pm - 6:00pm,Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Ottawa Funeral Home and Crematory. A memorial service will be held immediately following visitation at 6pm on Wednesday at Ottawa Funeral Home and Crematory. Alan was born October 25, 1959 in Ottawa, Illinois to Alfred "Tex" and Marjorie (Sharp) Waterworth. Many times while growing up Alan went to work with his dad where he learned how to paint. He carried on his dad's legacy by following in his footsteps as a painter. It didn't feel like going to work everyday since painting was something he enjoyed doing. In his free time he loved to take his children hiking and camping during their childhood. He loved to spend time in Florida with his sister and brother in law. He enjoyed going to the beach soaking up the sun's rays. Spending time with his grandchildren meant the world to him; especially taking them to the park, the mall, and the carnival every summer. Alan was a free-spirit that never seemed to have met a stranger and was such a kind and caring person. He is survived by his children, Nicole Waterworth, Alan Waterworth Jr., and Andrew Waterworth; his grandchildren, Colton, Michael, and Noah Boaz, Hayley, Bayley, and Clayton Tanner; one sister, Val (Bill Sr.) Hartman; two half-brothers, Adam and Eric Waterworth; one nephew, Bill (Christine) Hartman Jr.; and his friends, Richard and Diane Thompson who opened up their home and cared for him during his final days. He is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Isabella Waterworth; and his parents. Memorials may be directed to his family.
