Agnes V Battistelli

Agnes V. Battistelli, 85, of Ottawa passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Ottawa Pavilion surrounded by her loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Thursday, March 12, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi Church with Rev. Augustin Kassa officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, March 11, 2015 with prayers 3:45 at Ottawa Funeral Home. She will be buried in Calvary Cemetery. Agnes was born January 21, 1930 in La Salle, Illinois to Louis and Julia (Novak) Kosem. She married Frank Battistelli on June 17, 1950 in St. Roch's Catholic Church in La Salle. Agnes was a CNA at Ottawa Hospital. She was a member of St. Francis Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She is survived by four children, Virginia (Matt) Cappellini of Channahon, Gary Battistelli, Donald Battistelli, and Karen Wawerski all of Ottawa; eight grandchildren, Matthew (Shannon Roberts-Fox) Cappellini of Minooka, Peter (Amanda) Cappellini of Minooka, Mary (Bill Lennon) Cappellini of Chicago, Adam (Jenny) Battistelli of Edmond, OK, Andrew Battistelli of Perryton, TX, Casey Battistelli of Ottawa, Sarah (Eric Zrtis) Wawerski of Providence, RI, and Daniel Wawerski of Ottawa; eight great-grandchildren, Margot and Lenora Battistelli of Edmond, OK, Jackson Cappellini of Minooka, Everlyn Cappellini of Minooka, Liam and Riley Daugherty of Minooka, and Gavin and Brynlee Fox of Minooka; one sister, Emily (Charles) Marchiori of Peru; sister-in-law, Barb Battistelli of Peru; her best friend, Evelyn Haywood; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Frank; one grandson, Richard Wawerski; and one sister, Dorothy Gens. Pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren. Memorials may be directed to family.
