Aaron Rick

Aaron M. Rick, 31, of Raleigh, North Carolina, formerly of Ottawa, passed away Monday November 24th, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am December 2nd, 2014 at St. Mary's Church in Naplate with Father Tony Fevlo officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday December 1st, 2014 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Prayers at 3:45pm on Monday. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Aaron was born Sept. 22nd, 1983 in Ottawa, to Craig and Dawn (Mettille) Rick. After graduating from Ottawa High School in 2002, he obtained his degree in Civil Engineering from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. Aaron was employed by Etscheid, Duttlinger & Associates. He was survived by his parents, his brother Brandon, niece Jaylee, maternal grandparents; Jerry (Cheryl) Mettille and Mary Ellen (Vern) Corrigan, his four legged companion Isaac along with his numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is proceeded in death by his paternal grandparents; Art and Helen Rick, and his cousin Chade Mettille. Pallbearers will be cousins; Casey Rick, Ross Rick, Logan Sparks, Cody Purcell and friends Matt Harding and Scott Shanley. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Aaron M. Rick Memorial Scholarship fund at Ottawa Savings Bank 925 LaSalle St. Ottawa. Aaron loved spending time with his family and friends. His contagious smile brought happiness to many lives and laughter to all. Those close to him will never forget his hugs and signature phrase "Love ya, Babe!" He brightened any room with his presence and we will never forget the upbeat attitude he possessed. Aaron's love will live on thru the devotion he placed on the importance and sense of family. As we mourn the loss of our son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, and friend, his time on Earth has definitely made all of us better people.
