Daniel P. Dougherty, 66, of Ottawa, IL, died, Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Rush-Copley Medical Center, in Aurora.

Memorial Mass will be 10 00 AM Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at St. Patrick Church in Ottawa, with Rev. Philip Halfacre officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the Ottawa Funeral Home.

Daniel was born August 18, 1943 in Ottawa to Nicholas B and Hazel (Barr) Dougherty. He married Corlene Martin on November 30, 1968 at St. Patrick Church in Ottawa.

Dan was a Pipefitter for Local 81 and then with Local 597 before he retired in 2005. He served in the US Army in Germany.

He is survived by his wife, Corlene Dougherty; one daughter, Caron (Tom) Prettyman of Yorkville, IL; one son, Daniel J. Dougherty of Ottawa; one grandson, Brian Thomas Prettyman; one sister, Ruth Lakan of Ottawa; and one brother, Nicholas (Pat) Dougherty of Ottawa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter Grace Kathleen Prettyman.
