Patrick Gray

Patrick Marshall Gray, 44, of Ottawa passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024.

A private family service will be held on Thursday, April 18th with Monsignor Merdian officiating. 

He will be buried at St. Columba Cemetery. Ottawa Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Patrick was born March 22nd, 1980 in Ottawa to Patricia K. (Rossiter) and Dennis M. Gray. He was employed by Casey General Construction.  Patrick was a member of Laborers Local 393, Carpenters Local 195, and Gemma Power Systems. 

Patrick was a man who found his greatest joy on the water, where he thrived in activities like water skiing, boating, and fishing. His passion for wind power was evident in his proud builds, fearlessly climbing hundreds of feet into the air. Patrick lived life to its fullest, approaching every endeavor with unwavering determination and without fear. A diligent worker, he poured his heart and soul into every job, giving nothing less than his absolute best-a true force of nature.

In his moments of leisure, Patrick could often be found following his nephews in their high school and college baseball games, a testament to his dedication to family. His dedication continued to his daughter, Bella. She was the twinkle in his eye, his proudest moments, and he loved her more than words could describe. He cherished every moment spent together and every memory they made together. He cherished traditions and sentimental moments, embodying the spirit of an old soul at heart. Patrick leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and boundless enthusiasm for life that will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know him.

He is survived by his parents, Patty Gray of Ottawa and Dennis (Diana) Gray of Streator; his daughter Isabella Gray; his sister, Molly (Miguel) Gonzalo of Park Ridge. Patrick was the proud uncle of Alexander, Christopher, and Piper Gonzalo and Carter Gray. Greatly loved by his aunts and uncles Gina (Robert) Thomas and Amy (Tony) Mathias and cousins, Debbie Erickson and Maggi (Nicole) Condon and his fiancé, Jennifer LaConte.

Patrick was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Gray; paternal grandparents, Marshall "Gene" and Eleanor Gray; and maternal grandparents, William and Dolores Rossiter.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Fox River Cancer Center or the family.
