Jeanette Doris Krueger Howie, 76, of Ottawa, was called home to Jesus on Thursday, March 15, 2024 at LaSalle County Nursing Home in Ottawa.
She was born January 8, 1948 in Milwaukee, WI to Willard and Doris (Schulz) Krueger. Jeanette grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. She graduated from Deerfield High School in 1966. And moved to Yorkville. While living in Yorkville, Jeanette met and married Walter Robert (Bob) Howie. They married on May 22, 1977 at the Naperville Baptist Church and settled in Joliet and eventually moving to Morris where they lived for many years. They later moved to Cortland until the passing of Bob in 2012. Jeanette then made her final move to Ottawa, where she settled for many years, until her passing on March 15, 2024. During that time she was an active and valuable member of her church Ottawa First Assembly.
She is proceeded in death by her husband, both of her parents, her brother Will, her grandparents and her nephew Kelvin. She is survived by her brother Urnie and sister Suzanne, many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephew.
She loved to sew and quilt so much and gifted many of her friends and family with many of her creations. She was also an award-winning baker. Once again, she would share all the goodies she baked with love, with those that she loved.
Jeanette will be dearly missed by her family, friends and her church family .
